Beatrice the Polymer Clay Bookworm Bead

Beatrice is a little bookworm who loves nothing more than to read her books. She always has her nose in one book or another. Beatrice has her little pink book opened up to her favorite chapter -- she's even got a little charm for a bookmark to mark it so she can always open it up and go right to her favorite spot.

The entire bookworm bead is hand-sculpted from polymer clay. The book has a 'bookmark' with a little round bead charm centered with a pink heart that hangs down from the book. There is also a floral sticker on the outside of her book, you know like all the kids do. (The floral sticker may be located at a different spot on the book and may also be a different color than the one in the photos).

The approximate size of the bead is:
1" top to bottom
3/4" side to side

The bead is pierced vertically from top of head to bottom of bookworm.

The bead would be great to create something special for a teacher or a student. You can create something to add to a book bag for a student and for a teacher something to add to a key chain are just a few ideas.

This Mohawk baby is one cool little guy with a lot of attitude. He is definitely into punk. He hangs out at night with all of the rest of his clubbing friends, they love to listen to music and party in the mosh pit. These adorable Mohawk baby beads are available in my shop.

My Sister and I

My sister and I have always been close, we are actually best friends you could say. We were inseparable back then and always will be very, very close! Here's a photo of us back in the day having a picnic with my two Doberman puppies and her young son who by the way is now 24, gee how time flies by. BTW I'm the one with the sunglasses on.

Punk Kid Beads - Mohawk Blue

Mohawk Blue Punk Kid Head Beads

So every once in a while I like to make other critter and kitschy beads. I love to create dogs, but this is my second love making these little punk kid beads and critter beads. I call this punk kid Mohawk Blue, well because of his blue Mohawk of course. I have made a full sized bead and two smaller head beads to match.

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice!

Sophia and Gracie
I love these sweet adorable dolls by Sugar and Spice. Can't you just see a little girl running around with one of these dolls tucked under her arm? These are the type of dolls that little girls never want to put down, they become a pal, a best friend, a great sleepover buddy and an all around companion. Sugar and Spice is full of these type of dolly creations and it makes me dream a bit about going back in time and being a little girl again.

Great Fun for Kids on Halloween

Jack-O-Lantern Pumpkin Felt Board

There are two items from a couple of different shops that I'd like to mention today, both are for kids. I fell in love with both of these items when I saw them not only because they are great ways to get your kids involved, keep them busy for hours and have some fun with Halloween but also for the simplicity of each item. Today in the world of computer games, high tech equipment and cell phones, we've taken a lot of the simpler games out of our lives and it's nice to see that some folks still realize how simple it really is to put a smile on a child's face.

First up is from Dots and Daisies Boutique, a pumpkin felt board with lots of cutouts so kids can dress up their pumpkin with any number of eyes, nose and mouth pieces -- adorable!

The next item comes from Talk Tagz, these are Halloween shaped crayons that are made from recycled crayons -- what a great way for kids to have fun and get to know a little bit about recycling. I love this idea of taking something used and recycling it into a brand new product -- wonderful!!

Glow in the Dark Soaps

Glow in the Dark Skull and Crossbones
These great soaps are available at urbbody and such a treat for Halloween. I can't think of an easier way to get kids to wash their hands especially after all that trick or treating and if it's more than a wash of hands that's needed, it'll be a breeze to plop a few of these into the tub and let your kids have fun bathing!

Not only are these soaps glow in the dark -- they come in two wonderful scents, the Skull and Crossbones are available in Jolly Rancher® or Green Apple fragrance and the brains are available in Green Apple or Bubble Gum fragrance -- now those are fragrances kids can relate to. Have some good clean fun and Happy Halloween everyone!

Halloween Fun

Before we get started on Halloween, let me first announce the favorite for last week's features. There were actually three, it was a three way tie between the Petra Necklace, the Red Jasper Pendant and the Party Favor Slugs -- congratulations to those three favorites and thank you to all who keep voting weekly for your favorite! Now for some Halloween treats.

Halloween Ghost - Black Hi Tops
To kick off some Halloween fun I'd like to start this week by featuring some handmade Halloween goodies. First up take a look at these adorable shoes for kids. These hand painted canvas hi-top style shoes are sweet and oh-so-spooky and would be a great addition to your Halloween -- and how about a matching T-shirt to go with those sneakers! For plenty of delightful designs for children, trick or treat right on over to Boy Girl Boy Designs.

Danielle the Dragonfly Bead

While we were camping Lena and I returned from the forest with this pretty little dragonfly and named her Danielle the Dragonfly. She flew up on Lena's nose to say hi and they became fast friends, but Lena had to leave her behind because Little Danielle is happiest in her forest flying around the river from flower to flower -- she only stops by occasionally to say hello.

Danielle is a bead hand-sculpted from polymer clay. She has a purple head and green body and has wings in solid purple and solid yellow and two cane wings in similar colors. The front of her body has a pretty floral cane, her booty is stamped with a purple heart and her antennas are yellow and purple.

The approximate size of the bead is:
1-3/4" tall top to bottom
1-3/4" side to side (wing to wing)
1/2" front to back (nose to back of head)

The bead is pierced vertically from top of head to bottom.
