Cabin Fever - Blog Carnival

The question posed is what do you do to escape or what are you looking forward to doing to escape the doldrums? We escape to our log home every summer where Lena loves to cool off in the river and so do I at times. The only problem is Lena will not go in the river if I'm in there, it's kind of crazy, but that's just one of many of her quirks. She will go in the river as long as I'm not in the water, if I do go in all of a sudden she wants no part of it -- go figure. What do you do to escape your doldrums?

Going To the River

Thank you all for showing Lena some lovin! My nephews are always teasing us that Lena is not cute, that their Golden Retrievers are way cuter, she gets so much slack from them. I always tell them she may not be as cute but she is way smarter :) -- so thanks again for showing her some love!

We're off for a week to the cabin and our lovely river and although we will miss all of our Internet buddies a whole lot, it's sure nice to get away from the city for a while, computers, telephones and the rat race and spend some lazy days at the river. Lena especially loves to chase the critters and go in the river to cool off her belly :) See you when we get back.

Vacation Time Again

It's that time again, going out to the country where there are no phones, no computers, no gadgets of any kind, just nature. I always have mixed feelings about these times because although I love to get away from the city and all the hustle and bustle, I do miss my gadgets, most of all my computer. I must say that the dog loves it though -- she seems to be smiling when we're out there. Can dogs smile? I do believe mine does when she's running around in the grass and into the river, no leash, no neighbors, just land to roam around and other critters to meet. See you all in about a week -- we'll miss all of our blogger friends!

Goin to the Country

Lena and I are off again to the country for a week. We will be enjoying the peace and quiet and of course chasing critters. We love getting away, but at the same time miss the city life. It's a double-edged sword because although we love being out in the country setting we do miss certain aspects of city living like having a computer and internet access, telephones, etc. It is an adjustment. It's like when we start our vacation, I miss the fast-paced lifestyle I'm used to, by midweek I'm getting a little bored and then by the end of the week I start getting used to the slower pace and then I don't want to come home and get back to the rat race. Humans -- go figure.

To all my Entrecard friends -- we'll be back in one week dropping in on all of your wonderful blogs. We'll miss everyone.

Gone Camping

Lena and I are going to the country and as you can see Lena has her bags packed and she's ready to go. We'll be back in just one short week. Unfortunately, where we are going we have no access to a computer and just wanted to say that we'll miss all of our blogger friends and we will be back posting in just a short while.
