Lena and Halloween

Halloween is approaching, do you do any decorating? This is the question posed from the Etsy Bloggers Street Team for October. Well, I don't really do much decorating, but my stepdaughter just loves to decorate Lena. She loves to dress up the poor dog - and really it doesn't have to be Halloween. The top two photos below though are from Halloween in year's past, but the bottom one was a 'just because' dress up day -- she didn't have anything else to dress up Lena with and she loves to put things on my poor girl. Do you dress up your pet for Halloween?

Dachshund Picture Frame

I'm happy to say that this little guy sold pretty quickly. The frame is a metal frame with a hand-sculpted Dachshund across the bottom giving a ride to four ladybugs who are trying to get up the flowers that the little pup is holding. The frame holds a small print of my artwork of a Dachshund with her own fairy. The dog, ladybugs and flowers are all hand-sculpted from polymer clay.

Save A Dog

If you are crazy about dogs and want to support animal rescue efforts by helping to keep real dogs out of shelters and in good homes, now you can. Dogtime.com is now on Facebook and has a great new application Save A Dog.

It’s easy! For every 2,500 points you earn, Save A Dog donates the financial equivalent of a cup of food to RescueGroups.org, a non-profit organization that provides free and low-cost technology services to animal shelters and rescue groups across the country. The more points you earn, the more dogs you help save!

Just browse through the photos of real-life adoptable dogs, and choose one to virtually “foster.”

The best part about it is it's free, it costs absolutely nothing to join, you just go to the site each day to acquire points, the more points, the more you help! You earn 25 points a day just for logging in so why not stop on by to help a dog in need.

Chihuahua Little Pirate Halloween Tile

Is Halloween right around the corner already? Wow, that came around fast. Here's one of my Halloween creations. The Chihuahua Little Halloween Pirate.

This little Chihuahua Halloween Pirate tile is hand-sculpted from polymer clay. The tan Chihuahua lays on an orange background. He is dressed in a little pirate's outfit including black and white striped shirt, red neck scarf, black eye patch, large round hoop earring and his mighty sword (okay, okay it's just a miniature butter knife, but don't tell him that). He also holds his very own pumpkin basket to get all of those tasty Halloween treats.

The approximate size of the tile is 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" square and hangs from a white ribbon.
