Otis and his Owl Bead Set

Otis loves owls especially this little owl that looks just like him, they have become fast friends.

Otis and his owl are both hand-sculpted from polymer clay. They are done in matching colors of orange, green and purple. Otis is also embellished with a green heart on his belly, purple shoes, a shock of green hair and an orange Swarovski crystal on the side of his pants. This is a set of two beads, both pierced vertically from head to bottom.

Boston Terrier In The Dog House

Even though we are right in the middle of a snowstorm and there is about three inches already on the ground spring is in the air and this little Boston Terrier is waiting for warmer days and a place to call home.

The entire top of the piece is hand-sculpted with polymer clay. The dog house is white with pink heart and flower accents on all walls embellished with tiny silver beads. There are little flowers blooming around the house on colored wire. The house and flowers are fused to the base, but the Boston Terrier herself is removable and can lay either in the house or be taken out to be placed elsewhere. She wears a 10mm Swarovski crystal AB heart around her neck attached with pink and yellow embroidery threads. The entire piece sits on a pale green wooden hand-cut and painted base.

I first introduced this little Boston Terrier here and she's waiting for a new home.

A percentage of the sales from this little Boston Terrier goes towards my EFA group's charity of the month. EFA is a group of Etsy artists committed to helping animals.

The Man In The Mirror

So I've been on a Michael Jackson kick lately and it got me to thinking about him, his music and his career. I wondered why Michael Jackson went "Off The Wall" and started to get weird after such a great career in music.

Maybe he just wanted a little "Privacy" or maybe he couldn't escape his "Childhood" and then I thought maybe there was no one there when he needed to "Cry", no one there when he needed a "Smile" and most of all no one there to tell him when to stop, maybe no one had the courage to speak up to let him know he's going too far. I mean after all don't we all have it in ourselves to act a little "Bad" when there's no one there to tell us to stop, when we're making so much "Money" -- would we just say "Beat It" to everybody? I'm thinking that maybe it's just "Human Nature", that we all have this behavior in us when you make so much money and there's no one to stop you -- and I want to tell Michael "You're Not Alone".

But in the end I still ask myself when he looks at the "Man In the Mirror" does he "Scream", is he "Speechless", is he happy with the man he's become or does he look back and think, "Do You Remember The Time" or does he just stare in that mirror and think "Who Is It"?

No matter what you may think about MJ you can't deny that back in the day he was a major talent and for me Man In The Mirror will always be a great song and one of my favorites!

My Dog and Her Eye Boogers

Okay, so is my dog the only dog who has eye boogers and who loves to wipe them on my chair, sofa, bed, any place she gets a chance? I have been trying to catch her in the act of doing this for the longest time and figured out that the time when she does it the most is when we're about to go for a walk. She runs around the house, goes up to our recliner and starts smooshing her eye boogers in the chair. So one day I took the camera out early so she wouldn't know I was up to anything, laid it by the table, put my coat on and she started her ritual, but the minute I picked up the camera to click this is what I got -- sweet and innocent. She's just trying to make a liar out of me :), like I'm making this stuff up, but trust me I'm not. One of these days I'm gonna catch her! Does your dog have this behavior or other crazy weird behaviors?

The first treasury was a "A Case of the Blues", a lovely periwinkle blue treasury that featured my I Heart My Chihuahua; the treasury was created by hoorayforcrochet.

The second treasury was "Message In A Bottle" that featured Charles the Chinese Crested featuring fellow Etsy for Animals - EFA members who contribute to animal charities each month, the charity this month is Muttville; the treasury was created by folkartvision.

Cougar Barbie

We all know Barbie turned 50 -- so my aunt sent me this and I had to share -- it's hysterical -- enjoy!

I Heart My Brussels Griffon, Chihuahua and English Bull Terrier

Here are three new pieces I recently finished with loads of color. After this dreary winter and the cold weather, which by the way has not ended yet, it was 60 here a couple days ago and now we're down to 16 -- go figure. Anyway, here are my three new creations showing some love for these pups -- chock full of color -- hope you like!

Let's Be Friends Award

I received the "Let's Be Friends Award, which was awarded to me by a fellow blogger Hot Rocks (who also happens to make some of the most fabulous jewelry, which if you haven't checked out already, you should). I am truly honored that I'm considered a friend :).

The award states:

These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

And now I'm supposed to pass the award on to eight bloggers and this is going to be very hard because there are many bloggers I enjoy (I feel like I'm Ms. America passing along the crown), but here goes:

The Sad Story of Sweet Sammy

I first read Sammy's story over at Origena and was so saddened by it. I am always amazed and appalled that humans can be so cruel. I really don't understand it, I always find it so hard to comprehend how human beings can hurt poor defenseless creatures, how they can live with themselves after they've done such horrible things. I do believe in karma though and at some point what goes around comes around in one way or another.

You can read about Sammy's story over at Noahs Arks Rescue where he's being cared for. I have to warn you the photos of how Sammy came to them are graphic and very hard to look at. I was compelled to make a small donation to help for Sammy's care and I would actually love to adopt Sammy, he'd be a great mate for my Lena! I'm just grateful that there are organizations out there who care for our four legged friends like Sammy!
