Look, what's up with the word Look?

Look, I'm getting pretty frustrated with hearing the word look. I mean a lot of people including news commentators and almost every politician find the need to start every other sentence with the word, look. Look, I mean am I the only one noticing this? I would think it would be listen not look. Like "listen, we've got to do something about health care" not "look, I think it's time we did something about health care" -- enough already with look! I mean we are listening to what they're saying not looking. Even the word listen would get annoying if it was repeated as much as they seem to like to say look.

Just had to rant about that because it's nauseating enough having to listen to most politicians speak, but this look word is really starting to get on my nerves!

so thats why i think people use "look" a lot like
"Hey everyone! look at my new Blog"
it wouldn't make a heap load of sence if you siad
"Hey everyone! Listen to my new Blog"

But I totally get it when you talking about politians say a certan word over and over again. I have come to turn a deaf ear to most of it. They keep saying they will "do" something about a certan problome like health care.
