Is Change Really Possible?

Obama Makes History Leather Bag, ArmandoJavierDesign

I'm loving this bag by ArmandoJavierDesign, it is way cool and I absolutely love it, but it got me thinking about change. Is change really possible? Sometimes I think I'd like to believe so and other times I feel like a fool for believing that it can. I just think at times the world of politics is so screwed up and the threads of corruption woven so deep that it's just not possible -- and then I think well maybe. What do you think?

Sometimes I think change is impossible too (and watching or reading the news doesn't help my attitude!), but I can see that there have been huge changes in my own lifetime - civil rights, people's attitudes towards women, and people actually *thinking* about their impact on the environment, to name a few. I do think major change doesn't happen overnight, and ot won't be perfect, but (most days) I believe it can happen.

Honestly, I'm not a huge Obama fan, but I sure hope he proves me wrong and makes these huge changes that this country needs. I read once where an ex-President (it might have been Clinton, I'm not sure) said that until you are the President you don't know everything there is to know. That's why so many campaign promises are broken, once you learn the things no one else knows you realize there's nothing else to do but what everyone's been doing. Anyway, things do change as Mishkat said, though slowly. So Mr. President please prove me wrong and make those changes.

That is the coolest little bag!
Change is possible, whether it happens now or not, we will see. I'm mostly hopeful.

I'm also of the hopeful mindset..and really that alone is an improvement. Hope of better things to come fosters optimism. What a sweet bag!

Change HAS to happen.. the new administration is too different from Bush's. Whether that means solving all our problems... well, maybe not, but I'd love to see a start made on it. Especially health care.

I saw that bag, I love it too :) Great blog, and I've loved your Etsy shop for months!
